The news is that Dr. Randhir Thakur, Director of Foundry Services at Intel, has joined as CEO of Tata Electronics, an India-based company that is part of the Tata Group. There has already been some confusion in the press surrounding this story as to whether this is a full-time role at Tata Electronics and when he will transition to the role. InstaFinancials lists Dr. Thakur as an active CEO of Tata Electronics as of April 28, which is actually several months before today's date, but he is still listed on Intel's website (and on his LinkedIn page) as President of Intel Foundry Services. We have confirmed with Intel that Dr. Thakur is still president of its new foundry division and that the CEO role at Tata is solely a board position alongside his role at Intel.
